MFK-01 portable filtering set

The MFK-01 portable filtering set is designed to be a comprehensive solution for the filtering of sample gas that is contaminated with light and heavy hydrocarbon vapors and glycol. Water vapor concentration levels in the sample gas remain unaltered by filtration through the MFK.

It is recommended to use MFK in conjunction with dew point hygrometers when the gas is highly contaminated with light hydrocarbons. Light hydrocarbons condense before water and make visual measurements difficult.

Structural components:

oil filter – for removal of light hydrocarbon vapors (propane-butane group) by absorbing them in dehydrated oil;
Glycosorb filter – for filtration of heavy hydrocarbon vapors by absorbing them in activated carbon (activation is enhanced by a special treatment developed by Vympel engineers that improves the sorption properties of the carbon);
gas inlet/outlet system.

Principle of operation

MFK filtering elements: oil absorber for light hydrocarbons and Glycosorb filter for heavy hydrocarbons.

Oil absorber

The oil absorber efficiently provides removal of light hydrocarbon vapors (propane-butane group).

The oil absorber consists of a “bubbler” vessel filled with special dehydrated oil and outfitted with a “shower-head” gas injector.

Filtration is achieved through the absorbtion of the light hydrocarbon vapors by the special dehydrated oil.

Glycosorb filter

The Glykosorb filter removes glycol impurities and heavy hydrocarbons from the sample gas.
