Structure

LLC Scientific Production Association "Vympel" is a research and development, design and experiment, metrology and manufacturing organization. The company develops, manufactures, verifies and services a variety of equipment including:
  • ggas quality analyzers and gas physical/chemical parameter registration devices;
  • ultrasonic measuring systems and flow meters;
  • single-run gas metering stations with pipeline diameters up to 1400 mm;
  • UPSG-1000 category 1 gas flow industrial standard with a flow range of up to 1000 m3/h;
  • Vympel-15000 category 1 gas flow industrial standard with a flow range of up to 20,000 m3/h;
  • Vympel-80000 category 1 gas flow industrial standard with a flow range of up to 80,000 m3/h;
The enterprise also includes the gas quality metrological lab containing:
  • secondary national gas humidity standard,
  • category 1 standards of humidity and hydrocarbon condensation temperature;
and metrologic test rigs for verification of gas flow meters with flow ranges up to 1000 m3/h, 20,000 m3/h and 80,000 m3/h. The plant is located in Istrinskiy District of Moscow Oblast (city of Dedovsk).

History of the Company

1987
SPA Vympel was founded in Saratov as a research and production cooperative firm company "Yugtransgaz" to solve problems in the field of automation of technological processes of transport and storage of gas.
1988
The first major step was work on the issue of determining moisture content (dew point) of natural gas, one of the issues unsolved by OAO Gazprom at the time.
1990
Vympel Company has developed an automated dew point hygrometer CONG-VO (prototype of the transducer CONG Prima-2) for the Yugtransgaz company of OAO Gazprom in close cooperation with the lead specialists of these organizations.
1991
The hygrometer was first installed and tested at the Yugtransgaz facility in 1991.
1993
In the summer of 1993, in response to Gazprom's Yugtransgaz order specifications, SPA Vympel began development of a microprocessor system HyperFlow to measure the flow of natural gas (later known as "HyperFlow-3Pm").
1997
The CONG Prima-2 transducer and CONG verification complex were created after carrying out a lot of R&D works in 1993-1997. The verification complex served as a base for creation of dew point and heavy hydrocarbon content continuous control automated systems and was created in Russia for the first time.
2001
Creation of a primary flow transducer — Nonstandard flow restrictor (NFR) — alternative to a quick-disconnect high-pressure diaphragm bundle
2002
New NFR-based self-sufficient flow metering skid was tested for a year and put into operation at the Zapolyarnoye gas, oil and condensate field of OOO Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg.
2003
Main advantages of the new technology are: easy installation of the sensors on the pipelines (without stopping the transportation process), multi-channel operation, low power consumption.
2004
A new method of natural gas flow ultrasonic measurement was developed. It served as a base for production of Hyperflow-US ultrasonic flow meters.

2005
Commissioning of a gas well cluster telemechanics complex at the Aneryakhinskaya area of the Yamburg gas, oil and condensate field
2006
Collaboration testing of the Hyperflow-US flow meter at the URMC facility of OOO Gazprom Transgaz Ural, Chelyabinsk, and Prishnya site of Tula Gas-Main Pipeline Management in OOO Gazprom Transgaz Moskva.
Based on the Hyperflow-US ultrasonic flow meter, an information control system (ICS) has been developed for natural gas transport and distribution facilities (Hyperflow-TM-US), designed to organize gas metering in subterranean gas pipelines in areas without power lines and gas consumption facilities requiring remote control of valving.
2007
Development and testing of the DDFR-01 two-phase flow meter (cluster 117, Gas Treatment Plant 1S of Zapolyarnoye  gas, oil and condensate field).
2008
Trial run of the line telemechanics system prototype in OOO NOVATEK-Tarkosaleneftegaz.
2010
Development of a gas well cluster telemechanics system and process equipment for wells using the Concentric Lift technology.
2011
Commissioning of the gas well cluster telemechanics system and process equipment for wells using the Concentric Lift technology (Gas Treatment Plant 7 of the Yamburg gas, oil and condensate field, OOO Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg).
